Solid-state 18″ radome with CHIRP pulse compression, for sailing, cruising and coastal fishing.
Quantum is Raymarine's entry solid-state radar: an 18″ radome with no magnetron, so it is ready to transmit almost at once and draws only 17 W while transmitting (7 W on standby). CHIRP pulse compression spreads each pulse over a short sweep of frequencies, which gives a cleaner picture of close targets than a plain short pulse. The picture reaches out to 24 NM, with a minimum range of about 18 ft.
It suits sailing boats, cruisers and coastal fishing boats where weight aloft and power draw matter, and it is safe to mount near the crew. It tracks up to 10 targets and does not include Doppler; that is what Quantum 2 adds. It connects over a data cable or Wi-Fi to compatible Axiom displays.

Quantum 2 Doppler
Adds Doppler collision avoidance, which colours targets by whether they are closing on you.
Quantum 2 is the same 18″ solid-state CHIRP radome as the Quantum, with Doppler added. Doppler measures whether a target is moving towards or away from you, and the display colours inbound targets red and outbound targets green, so a vessel on a collision course stands out from the clutter at a glance.
It also tracks up to 25 targets automatically or manually, against 10 on the standard Quantum, and offers a True Motion view. Power draw is the same as the Quantum (17 W transmitting, 7 W standby), and range is 24 NM. It is also sold in a high-gloss black finish. It suits owners who want that extra warning on crowded coastal or night passages, and it works wirelessly or by cable with compatible Axiom displays.
Both Quantum radomes run over a single cable, or wirelessly to a compatible Axiom.
Pairs with an Axiom display
Chart overlay, Doppler colouring and dual range all need the radar and the display working together. We supply them together and commission them together.
