AIS700
Class B transceiver with a built-in antenna splitter so it can share the boat's VHF aerial.
AIS (Automatic Identification System) lets vessels exchange name, position, course and speed by VHF radio. A transceiver both receives other vessels and transmits yours; a receiver only listens. The AIS700 is a Class B transceiver, the version Raymarine positions for small commercial and pleasure vessels that do not need to meet IMO/SOLAS rules. Class B transmits at lower power than Class A (5 W, SOTDMA).
Its built-in antenna splitter lets it share the existing VHF aerial, which simplifies installation. It has GPS/GLONASS, NMEA 2000, two NMEA 0183 ports, USB for setup and diagnostics, and a silent mode that stops it transmitting. It is IPx6/IPx7 waterproof.

AIS4000
Class A transceiver with its own colour display, SOLAS and Inland Waterway certified, for commercial vessels and large yachts.
Class A is the full-power AIS standard carried by commercial ships and SOLAS vessels. The AIS4000 is Raymarine's Class A transceiver for commercial vessels, luxury yachts and SOLAS high-seas shipping, certified for SOLAS and Inland Waterways use. It has its own 5-inch colour display showing targets, CPA/TCPA data and alarms (closest point of approach and the time until it), with optional C-MAP ENC chart mapping, plus integrated man-overboard/PLB alerting and tracking.
Connections include NMEA 2000, six NMEA 0183 ports, Wi-Fi, a DGPS input and an alarm relay output, and a junction box is included. It is built to withstand harsh weather, shock and vibration, and is IPx6/IPx7 waterproof.

AIS5000
Class A transceiver for first responders and search-and-rescue, acting as a gateway for secure text messaging.
The AIS5000 is a full-function Class A transceiver enhanced for maritime first responders, search and rescue and law enforcement. Alongside normal Class A tracking, it acts as a gateway for secure text messaging with Raymarine encrypted multifunction displays, for ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore messaging, tasking and SAR coordination. Features include Blue Force Tracking of friendly units, open or covert participation in the AIS network, target-of-interest designation and a silent receive-only mode.
The hardware follows the AIS4000: a 5-inch colour display, NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183, Wi-Fi and IPx6/IPx7 waterproofing. It is aimed at agencies rather than recreational boats, so private owners will normally be looking at the AIS700 or AIS4000.
AIS shares the VHF aerial unless a separate one is fitted. We plan the splitter or the second aerial as part of the job.
Pairs with an Axiom display
Chart overlay, Doppler colouring and dual range all need the radar and the display working together. We supply them together and commission them together.
